If you still don't know what the benefits of porcelain flooring with a wood effect are for your home compared to traditional wood flooring or floating flooring, we invite you to read this post carefully.
1. Water Resistant
Porcelain stoneware has a practically zero water absorption value (maximum 0.5%, according to ISO 10545, to be defined as such, but the actual value is much lower) and is classified as E3 according to UPEC standards, the maximum level of water resistance.
In practice, this means that ceramic wood can be used without any problem in any room with high water content: in the kitchen, in the bathroom, as a shower cover, and even in terraces and gardens.
Nor will it give you any problem in case it gets accidentally wet (if we forget the open window in the middle of a storm, or the washing machine breaks down, or some small inhabitant of the house decides to make his contribution to science...).
2. High wear and scratch resistance
While wood is generally a rather delicate material, which tends to be easily damaged by the continuous traffic of pedestrians, moving objects and falling objects, porcelain stoneware is one of the most wear and scratch resistant of all the materials normally used for flooring.
This aspect is particularly important because it makes it possible to obtain a flooring with a high impact wood effect even in public or commercial areas with high volumes of traffic, where the natural wood would be damaged in a very short time.
Porcelain stoneware is a vitrified material with very low porosity and, therefore, resistant to practically any chemical attack, and is classified C3, the highest level of resistance to chemical agents, according to the UPEC standard.
Whatever the essence of the wood reproduced, the stains only remain on the surface and can therefore be removed even after they have dried. So there is no need to be afraid to use wood if it is ceramic for the kitchen floor or behind the stove: each stain disappears with a quick sponge blow.
4. Heat resistant
There is no risk of surface blackening by contact with hot objects (cigarette butts, fireplace stones, etc.). Similarly, ceramic wood does not release any gas or toxic substances when exposed to flames.
5. Resistant to frost and bad weather such as UV rays
Ceramic parquet is perfectly resistant to frost and bad weather, so it can be used safely outdoors. In this case, however, when installing in outdoor areas, it is always appropriate to select the right product for the intended use, in terms of thickness and surface finish. In addition, prolonged exposure to the sun will not have any negative effect because the ceramic material is resistant to the action of the sun, and therefore will not discolour or alter the surface in any way.
Porcelain stoneware is an extremely resistant inert material that does not undergo any modification or deterioration over time (provided that the appropriate porcelain stoneware is used for the purpose for which it is to be used and where it is to be installed).
The process of wear, due to the treading and use, will be extremely slow and imperceptible. First we'll get tired of seeing him see the tile deteriorate.
7. It's practically immutable
Ceramic parquet, as well as any other good quality porcelain stoneware floor, will remain the same for many years: it will not lighten or darken, it will not lose colour or definition.
8. No treatment required
A wood ceramic coating does not require protective varnishes or polishes, waxes or oils. Therefore, it should not be sanded or processed.
This ensures the absolute absence of solvent vapours and other volatile chemical components that may be present in the finishing paints of natural wood floors.
9. Aesthetic appearance under control
This is a more subtle and less obvious advantage. When we choose a natural wood in a shop, it is obviously not the wood that will be delivered to us: every tree is different, as is every slat. This may cause us to lose control over the final result: the colour may be different, the shade may be lighter or darker, the knots may be more frequent, or the knots may be larger or smaller, etc....
With the production technology used today, ceramic wood has almost the same variability as natural wood, but each range is always identical to the others.
This is because ceramic parquet is highly controlled in its manufacturing process, and the result will always be balanced between different batches.
When we choose a ceramic with a parquet effect, we know exactly what we are buying and what will come home to us. Therefore, we have absolute control over the final aesthetic result of the floor.
10. You can reproduce rare or exclusive wood finishes
Some natural wood finishes have become very rare or are sold at prohibitive prices. In the case of wood-effect porcelain stoneware, on the other hand, the selling price depends only to a very limited extent on the selling price of the original wood. In fact, only a few tens of metres of natural material are sufficient to detect the graphics and grain patterns reproduced by wood-effect stoneware and the cost is quickly amortised by sales volumes.
No trees have been cut down to produce the floor of our house. In fact, the starting point for the production of the prototype is natural wood, but it is obviously very little material!
In this way, by using ceramic wood for the floor of our home or workplace, we are contributing to the preservation of the environment and sustainable development.
12. Easy to clean
Regardless of the type of ceramic wood and imitation finish, a cloth and warm water are sufficient for daily cleaning.

13. Ideal with underfloor heating
Porcelain stoneware is the best possible material to accompany a floor heating system. Its thermal conductivity value allows in fact an excellent performance of the system, superior to that obtained in combination with other insulating materials that create a kind of barrier to the passage of heat.....
14. Can be cleaned with aggressive products
While warm water is sufficient for daily maintenance, it may sometimes be necessary to work more aggressively on the floor to remove paint or cement stains, or to thoroughly disinfect an area.
Wooden porcelain allows the use of aggressive acid or alkaline detergents. There will be no dirt left behind and the special cleaning treatment will not alter your floor in any way.
The list of advantages of ceramic wood is already long, but it would be incomplete if we did not mention another fundamental merit: wood-effect ceramic is a hygienic material, which does not favour the growth of bacteria.
In addition, it is non-perishable, waterproof, non-absorbent, insulating and easy to clean and disinfect, so it can be installed in environments such as schools, restaurants, etc..
